all areas covered by negotiation Having your baby Christened has no legal status it is solely intended to introduce your child into the Christian faith. For many parents nowadays Christenings are the way in which parents publicly recognise the arrival of their new baby however they might not always feel comfortable with the religious aspect of such an occasion, this is where a Naming Ceremony offers a very special personal alternative. In
planning a Naming Ceremony the wishes of the family are of
primary concern and importance.
The ceremony is written personally for your child and
your family, the family is fully involved in choosing wording,
music and any contributions which can still be religious in
style, or more spiritual or non-religious ceremonies can be
chosen as alternatives. Naming Ceremonies can be held at a location of your choice - you might decide this to be in your own home or garden or some other location that might feel special to you, as well as more formal locations such as a hotel or community hall - the choice is yours. The ceremony usually lasts for about 30 minutes and anyone you choose can contribute to or take part in the ceremony. The child will usually have Guardians instead of Godparents. As with Christenings, Naming Ceremonies have no legal status and you will still need to have your baby's birth registered in the conventional way. Fees include officiating at the ceremony and an optional planning meeting £120 All areas covered by negotiation Basic travelling expenses incurred for ceremonies outside of a 25 mile radius of Portsmouth, Hampshire - please enquire for further details For further details or an informal chat regarding your own requirements please contact Deborah McGregor Write to: 47 Brewers Lane Bridgemary Gosport Hampshire PO13 0JX Telephone: 01329 313723 email: deborah.mcgregor@ntlworld.com
Babies are Angels Babies are Angels that fly to the earth, Their wings disappear at the time of their birth One look in their eyes and we're never the same They're part of us now and that part has a name That part is your heart and a bond that wont sever Our babies are Angels, we love them forever author unknown
